Iconic socks with character
Corgi socks trace their origins back to 1892, when Rhys Jones knitted thigh-high woollen stockings for miners in Carmarthenshire. Over a century later, the same family still works at the Ammanford factory, where craftsmen dye, knit and hand-weave each thread. The brand combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Fine merino wool, Egyptian cotton and luxurious cashmere form the foundation, with each yarn given an intense colour or playful pattern using small-scale, in-house dyeing techniques. The result is a sock that feels soft, doesn’t pinch and, thanks to the elasticated cuff, retains its shape, even after many wears and washes.
Unparalleled yarns and striking colours
Corgi socks owe their luxurious look to the choice of yarns. High-quality Italian cashmere, long-staple Pima cotton and extra-fine merino wool form the basis. The fibres are first dyed in their own dye vats, which allows the hue to penetrate to the core and remain bright after many washes. Thanks to a combination of hand and electric knitting, the factory can produce complex designs – from classic checks to playful micro-motifs – in small quantities without residual waste. Self-generated solar energy provides eighty percent of the electricity; the rest comes from wind farms, which keeps the total footprint exceptionally low.
