Lochcarron of Scotland has been weaving in the border town of Selkirk since 1892 and is now considered the world's largest producer of real tartan. In its own 'mill', skilled craftsmen design, dye and weave over 500 different check patterns, with a focus on traceability from raw material to product. The result? Fabrics that find their way from kilts at the Highland Games to couture on the international catwalks - all proudly labelled "Made in Scotland".
At The English Hatter, we select the finest accessories from this rich heritage. Our tartan scarves come in a blend of lambswool and cashmere. Each scarf is brushed to an exceptionally soft finish and, thanks to the sturdy twill weave, will retain its colour and shape for years to come. We also carry classic berets – lightweight wools in iconic checked patterns – that instantly add a classic feel to any outfit.
Pair a lambswool scarf with a Harris tweed blazer for an elegant weekend look, or wear an iconic beret with awax jacketfor a unique accent on cold days. Thanks to the natural temperature regulation of wool, Lochcarron scarves and berets remain comfortably warm, breathable and hard-wearing – perfect for the stylish man who appreciates tradition and quality.
