Maerz clothing has its origins in 1920, when Wolfgang März had the first wool items knitted on hand machines in a small studio in the Schwabing district of Munich. Demand grew so quickly that within a few years he purchased his own knitting machines and opened a factory where most of the production still takes place today. What started in the 1920s with knitted foot warmers developed into a complete range of sweaters, cardigans and slipovers, all designed in Munich and knitted exclusively in European studios to guarantee the quality requirements. The brand is known for its fine merino wool and durable cotton blend that retains its colour for a long time. The choice of luxurious materials has been at the heart of every collection since its foundation.
