Conemans has been a household name in Utrecht for decades. As of December 1st, this iconic store will rebrand as Conemans by The English Hatter – a unique combination of Utrecht heritage and the classic English style that The English Hatter has embodied since 1935.

We offer timeless clothing, high-quality materials, and craftsmanship, with a collection that prominently features brands like Barbour, William Lockie, and Wellington. Our customers come for quality, personalized service, and a shopping experience unlike any other menswear store.

For our store in Utrecht, we are looking for an experienced and representative sales advisor (32 hours) who wants to play an important role within our team and in the new phase of Conemans.

Your role

As a sales advisor at Conemans by The English Hatter, you'll be a permanent fixture on the shop floor. You're welcoming, knowledgeable, and responsible for creating a shopping experience where service, a calm atmosphere, and attention are paramount. You'll engage with customers, inspire them, and ensure the store always looks well-maintained.
In this 32-hour position, you will also be given more responsibility within the team, including independently opening or closing the store (in consultation), supervising weekend staff, and contributing to commercial opportunities and presentations.

This is what you will do:

  • Advising customers on our high-quality collection and classic English style;
  • Actively participate in thinking about styling, sizing and product combinations;
  • Keeping the store presentable and ensuring a presentation that matches our image;
  • Maintain inventory and shelves, process orders and deliveries;
  • Opening or closing the store in consultation and acting as a point of contact in the absence of the branch manager;
  • Help colleagues and support new employees by sharing your experience;
  • Thinking about promotions, customer approach and enhancing the shopping experience.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who:

  • Available for 32 hours per week , including one weekend day;
  • Experience in retail, hospitality or a service-oriented environment (experience in fashion is a plus);
  • A professional and representative appearance that matches our classic signature;
  • Customer-oriented, commercial and proactive: you see opportunities and act on them;
  • Interested in quality, classic men's fashion and craftsmanship;
  • Reliable, communicative and committed to the store and the team;
  • Who enjoys taking responsibility and participating in daily operations.
