From 1949 to 2017, The English Hatter was a true family business, led by the Garrels family.

But the family feeling is always, even now, very strong. The 'chosen family' of The English Hatter is not limited to the staff. The brands with which we have worked for decades are also part of the family. And when a loyal customer enters the store, it almost feels like a visit from a cousin or niece that we would like to see more often.

From the roots of English Country Style—and our belief in contemporary slow fashion—to 1930s Amsterdam, when everyone wore a hat, and the Amsterdam of the sixties, when almost no one did.
